About me
I am Yifan Shen, a PhD student in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Washington. My research lives at the intersection of operations research and transportation marketplace design, specifically focusing on pricing and matching problems for shared rides, advised by Chiwei Yan (UC Berkeley) and Julia Yan (UBC).
Before coming to Seattle, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Transportation and Master’s degree in Logistics Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
I am graduating in the first half of 2026, and am currently seeking Scientist roles where I can apply my expertise in optimization, data analytics, and marketplace design to solve complex, real-world operational challenges.
